During the Taipei computer exhibition in early June, Intel revealed a number of new products in the future, of which the ultra low power domain will be upgraded to Amber Lake-Y, instead of the Kaby Lake-Y released in the third quarter of 2016, facing mobile devices such as tablet, two in one, super - book, entry notebook and so on. Amber Lake-Y can also be considered as part of the eight generation of the core family. The process uses the 14nm++ (two grind upgrade version), and the structure is basically unchanged, so the main change is also the frequency and performance of lifting, but the power consumption is slightly increased.

The new generation has been three models, both core four threads, 4MB three caching, GPU core card name from HD 615 to UHD 615, the estimated frequency will not change.

The most advanced is Core i7-8500Y, the basic frequency 1.5GHz (acceleration 200MHz), the Rui frequency acceleration has two states, dual core Rui 3.6GHz (equal to the original mononuclear frequency), the single core can reach 4.2GHz - this is also the Y series acceleration frequency for the first time more than 4GHz.

Next is Core i5-8200Y, basic frequency 1.3GHz, dual core frequency 3.2GHz, single core frequency 3.9GHz.
The last is Core m3-8100Y (right or i/m sequence mixing). The fundamental frequency invariance is still 1.1GHz, dual core frequency 2.7GHz, single core frequency 3.4GHz.

However, the power consumption of thermal design also increased slightly from 4.5W to 5W at the same time, but the adjustable range is not known for the time being. At present, it is the lowest 3.5W and the highest 7W.
Amber Lake-Y has not been released for a long time. According to earlier Intel's statement, it is time to play this year.
